Miriam Mintz

Special educator, and the person this library is named for

Miriam Mintz (née Fink) was a special educator in Baltimore. For about a decade she worked at Talmudical Academy’s Lamdeinu learning center, helping children who needed a different approach to learning. She brought patience, skill, and high expectations to that work.

Miriam passed away in August 2024. Her husband, Mendel Mintz, founded Miriam’s Library to carry her work forward through a permanent community institution: a library and learning center in Pikesville where children, including those who learn differently, can discover their strengths and belong.

Every child has a mission. Make the world brighter.
